Marcella Robertson

Marcella Robertson is a news anchor and reporter at WUSA9 in Washington, D.C., with nearly 15 years of experience in journalism. Throughout her career, she has covered breaking news, major national events, investigations and stories that directly impact local communities.

Marcella began her journalism career at NBC29 in Charlottesville, Virginia, before joining 13News Now (WVEC) in Norfolk. In 2017, she returned home to Northern Virginia to join WUSA9. Her work has been recognized with four Emmy Awards and an Edward R. Murrow Award.

Marcella is also a proud George Mason University alumna. She graduated from Mason in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in communication before earning a master’s degree in multimedia journalism from Virginia Commonwealth University. In 2021, she was honored by George Mason as a Distinguished Alumni honoree in Communication.

She has remained connected to Mason throughout her career, mentoring aspiring journalists and participating in programs for communication students. Returning to George Mason as an adjunct professor has been a particularly meaningful full-circle experience, allowing her to share her real-world newsroom experience with the next generation of journalists.
