Bruce Cooke
Filmmaker/Educator
Bruce Cooke is an award winning filmmaker - Producer, Director, Writer & Editor - with over 30 years of experience in film and digital video production.
Bruce has produced, directed and written numerous one-hour, prime-time programs for Discovery Communications. He has directed Hollywood stars like Alec Baldwin, Louis Gosset, Jr., Angela Lansbury and Sam Waterston. His corporate and non-profit clients include Federal Express, MasterCard International, Marriott, Capital One, PBS, National Wildlife Federation and the American Red Cross.
Along the way, he has garnered numerous industry awards for his work including Gold Medals from the New York, Chicago and Houston Film Festivals, multiple CineGolden Eagles and Golden Reels from the International Television Association and an International Monitor Award for Best Director, with two other nominations.
Bruce has taught as Adjunct Faculty at the college undergraduate and graduate level for over 20 years. The schools include American University, The Art Institute of Washington and George Mason University.
Bruce received a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame in The Program of Liberal Studies and a Masters Degree in Film & Video Production from the American University, where he was name the “Outstanding Graduate Student in Visual Media.”
