Amjad Alghamdi is a graduate teaching assistant and a PhD student in the department of communication interested in studying health communication. Amjad Received his B.A from King Abdulaziz University and moved to the United States in 2017 to study master of science in health promotion and education. In 2020, Amjad finished his M.S in health promotion from Marymount University in Arlington, VA. Amjad was admitted to the department of communication at George Mason in fall 2020 and started studying health communication. Amjad earned his M.A in communication in spring 2022 and started his doctoral program in fall 2022 studying health communication.
Amjad primary area of interest focuses on the relationships between healthcare providers and consumers such as patients' assertiveness and its role in shaping the dynamics between health care providers and consumers. Another area of interest is health promotion by studying the behaviors that are closely related to positive and negative outcomes to people's health and wellbeing as well as how to best address these behaviors by public engagement. Amjad is also interested to study the science of communication and how to best address crisis and health concerns to the public focusing on message designs and health campaigns implementation.
