David Boyars

David Boyars

Excellence in Media Production

David is a consummate professional who intuitively excels at all things production. He has excelled at all things creative and rises to the challenges before him. During the COVID-19 pandemic, David demonstrated his problem-solving skills to meet his media production course's learning objectives while complying with safety protocols without compromising quality in his assignments. Namely, his work on the Demonstration Project and his Commercial Project were examples of excellence and a blueprint for fellow students to follow.

As an enthusiastic supporter of Mason and the Department of Communication, he has emerged as a natural leader. He is an excellent classmate who often offers unconditional assistance to group members and non-members alike. As the Scholarly Digital Storytelling Multimedia Assistant to Dr. Kelly Schrum, professor of Digital Storytelling in the History and Art History department (Spring 2021), David conducts weekly mini-multimedia production workshops for graduate research students in partial fulfillment of his Media Production practicum.

His responsibilities in the scholarly digital story class (HE792, HIST688) also included assisting each student in creating a 10-minute digital story. As Dr. Schrum noted, [Boyars] "is doing well and has helped the students. We're moving into the final production stretch and, I get the sense that he will be very responsive and helpful."
