Anu is a pursuing her PhD in (Health) Communication at George Mason University with a focus on patient-provider communication and is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (clinician).  She has additional training in areas of health and wellness as a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-500) and Certified Wellcoach®.  

She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a specialization in Physiology and a minor in Biology from George Mason University, a Master of Science in Dietetics and Nutrition from James Madison University and completed her dietetic internship at the Medical College of Virginia.  

Anu’s primary research interests focus on patient-centered and trauma-informed health communication, thanatology (study of loss, grief and death), and the role of mind-body modalities in self and co-regulation and interpersonal communication. Anu is the recipient of Leadership Award(s) from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and a fellowship at the National Cancer Institute, NIH.
