The intersections of gender, media, culture, and health inequalities in transnational contexts through an interdisciplinary approach.

Narges Ghafary is a PhD student in health communication at George Mason University. Her research focuses on health communication, immigrant health, intersectionality, and social and behavioral change interventions. She holds a master’s degree in development and communication and a global health certificate from Ohio University and a master’s degree in business and management from Kazakhstan American Free University. Narges has worked with UNICEF on social and behavior change interventions and with World Vision International on campaigns addressing child marriage, women's empowerment, and community health, which enrich her academic work. At George Mason University, she is a graduate research and teaching assistant for COMM 101 lab sessions and COMM 400 research methods in social science.
