Mariam Shafik is an adjunct instructor at George Mason University with a background in Communication with a concentration in Intercultural Communication. She earned her B.A. and M.A. from George Mason University in Interpersonal/Organizational and Strategic Communication. She has conducted graduate research within the field of Intercultural and Instructional Communication.


Mariam served as the Vice President of George Mason University’s Chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America in her senior year of college. She was also an Ambassador for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS), and for the Communication Department at George Mason University. 


In her free time, Mariam runs her own baking business, Mariam’s Home Bakery, which she started in 2020.
