Fairfax, VA — February 4, 2026 — Students enrolled in COMM 358: Multicamera Studio Production in George Mason University’s Media Production program participated in an immersive, hands‑on learning experience during a visit to Fairfax Public Access (FPA).
Led by instructor David Miller, the visit provided students with the opportunity to connect classroom concepts with professional studio operations.

During the tour, Jay Erausquin, Director of Training at FPA, guided students through the station’s multicamera studios, control rooms, and post‑production suites. He offered an overview of the roles and workflows that support professional broadcast environments and noted that he looks forward to welcoming additional student groups in the future.
Students shared positive feedback on the experience. Alyssa Roth, a sophomore minoring in Communication, described the tour as a standout moment in her studies and highlighted how the visit showcased the breadth of opportunities available in media production. Aaron Pinto, a senior in the Media Production concentration, praised the supportive staff and emphasized how community media spaces like FPA can help students envision future careers in broadcasting and studio production.
The visit reflects the strong collaboration between George Mason University and Fairfax Public Access, offering students valuable exposure to career pathways in community media and local broadcasting—reinforced by Mason alumni currently working at FPA. The Media Production program remains committed to integrating real‑world experiences into the curriculum to prepare students for success in today’s dynamic media landscape.
