Communication Experts Discuss New Media and Democracy at Panel

As part of International Week, the George Mason University Communication Department and the Center for World Religions, Diplomacy & Conflict Resolution (CRDC) combined with Al Jazeera-English to present a timely panel discussion, "From Revolution to Evolution: How Emerging Media Empower Democracy," on April 11 at George Mason University's Johnson Center Cinema. Tony Burman, the Chief Strategic Advisor in the Americas for Al Jazeera-English, joined Communication Department Chair Dr. Gary Kreps and CRDC Director Dr. Marc Gopin on a panel moderated by the Communication Department's Dr. Stephen Farnsworth to discuss the role of social media in conflict resolution and non-violent regime change.
