In COMM 353: Broadcast Journalism, students learn how to operate, set up, and position a camera, how to frame shots and scenes, how to get crisp audio and adequate lighting, and how to write and produce their own stories for the broadcast medium.
In the fall of 2011, the Department of Communication at George Mason University offers students the opportunity to pursue education in various tracks of the discipline, which include journalism, video production, video writing and communication studies.
Don Boileau, a professor of communication who began his career at Mason in 1981, was recognized by the Mason Alumni Association at the association’s annual Celebration of Distinction as Faculty Member of the Year.
