Welcome to the Department of Communication
Welcome from Gary Kreps, Chair (.mp3)
We offer undergraduate and graduate degrees, including a Communication minor (listen to our .mp3s!) and the Health, Risk, and Crisis Communication graduate program. We are happy to announce that recruitment has already begun for the Fall 2008 class in our new PhD. in Communication with an emphasis in Health and Strategic Communication.
We are home to many active student organizations, including the nationally-recognized George Mason Forensics Team and the George Mason Debate Team.
Women and Language Journal, an international interdisciplinary research periodical published by the Communication Department, is affiliated with the Organization for the Study of Communication Language and Gender; it has the mission of providing a feminist forum for those interested in communication, language and gender. If you are interested in submitting manuscripts to the Women & Language journal, please click here for more information.

Emergency Preparedness
An emergency can occur at any time, suddenly and without warning. Proper planning is essential to minimize the impact of any emergency on university operations and facilities. The Emergency Preparedness Office was created to provide such planning by establishing policies, procedures, and responsibilities that are necessary to effectively respond to an emergency.
