Joao Araujo, a senior communication major and interned at Heven AeroTech, Dulles, Virginia. Heven AeroTech develops hydrogen-powered drone solutions and offers a comprehensive suite of services to support hydrogen drone operations across civilian and defense applications. The company recently secured a U.S. Army agreement for its hydrogen-powered Z1 unmanned aircraft system. Joao worked under Warren Brown and the company's marketing team, gaining hands-on experience in corporate marketing strategy, brand development and content creation. Some of Araujo's internship tasks included:
• managing and balancing a $500,000 marketing budget,
• creating content for the company's social media platforms,
• assisting with the redesign of Heven AeroTech's showroom,
• producing an onboarding video for new employees, and
• identifying and connecting with podcasters for potential partnerships and interviews.
This internship gave Joao real-world exposure to marketing operations within the fast-growing aerospace and defense technology industry, sharpening both his strategic and creative skills before graduation. These learned skills will help him grow as a well-rounded communication professional ready to enter the workforce.
