Barbara Muziotti Morantes is a senior Communication major, with a concentration in media production and criticism. She interned at GMU-TV, on the Fairfax campus. The company has been awarded 48 Telly Awards since 2020. Barbara’s immediate supervisor is a senior Producer/Director and Post Production Tech Coordinator at GMU-TV. The different assigned tasks have helped Barbara expand her knowledge and experience behind the cameras at live TV or taped events. Some of Barbar’s tasks included:
· studio and equipment maintenance,
· editing for social media,
· studio operations, and
· assisting with field productions.
With the completion of each task, Barbara deepened her understanding of the ethical and professional standards needed in media production and communications. Through this hands-on experience, she discovered how much she values both the creative and technical aspects of the television production field.
