Sarena Sohan is a Communication major with a concentration in journalism. She interned with the College of Science, which often highlights its faculty of world-class scientists and educators with exemplary qualifications and progressive experience. Sarena specifically worked as a digital media assistant intern in the Mason Science Marketing and Communications Department. This internship helped her grow by giving her valuable first-hand experiences that she can add to her communication portfolio. Some of her tasks included:
· drafting captions for Mason Science social media posts,
· analyzing social media data,
· interviewing Mason Science students and faculty, and
· photographing Mason Science events.
With each task, Sarena developed a deeper understanding of the responsibilities involved in working in marketing and communications. This internship and her media passion projects will greatly assist her in a communication career.
