Nathan Ferraro is a junior communication major with a double concentration in journalism and political communication. He is a staff writer and Jim Borden scholar at the Pittsburgh-based multimedia news company Trib Total Media for Summer 2026. At Trib Total Media, Nathan writes primarily for the Greensburg Tribune-Review, one of the company’s several publications. As a staff writer, some of Nathan’s tasks include:
· Pitching and fulfilling news story assignments
· Interviewing sources, conducting research, and writing original copy for print and digital publication
· Producing multimedia elements to accompany stories, including photography and videography
· Shooting vertical video for short-form social media platforms and horizontal video for stories
These duties directly align with Nathan’s future career goals of working in journalism. Nathan also gets to learn from other reporters and editors by shadowing them on the job.
