Mason COMM Graduate Teaching Assistant and current PhD candidate, Syed Muhammad Abubakar, has published a recent story for Geo News English on Pakistan's vulnerability to climate change, as per the latest Global Climate Risk Index 2026 by Germanwatch, a German think-tank. Pakistan is the 15th most vulnerable country to climate-induced extreme weather events over the 30-year period (1995-2024), according to the report. Abubakar said, "In the story, I have touched upon South Asia's vulnerability to climate change, as the region is getting increasingly vulnerable to climate change-induced extreme weather events".
