Abigail Allen is a junior Communication major with a concentration in interpersonal and organizational communication. She interns at Sage Communications in McLean, Virginia, which is a full-service independent marketing communications agency and is one of the largest in the Mid-Atlantic area. They support three main sectors: technology, public, and social impact. Sage’s reputation has earned the company recognition with PRSA Platinum PR Awards, PR News Agency Elite Awards, and PR News Best Places to Work. In the position of Assistant Account Coordinator, Abigail’s responsibilities include:
· curating strategic media lists to create opportunities for client exposure,
· drafting pitches to journalists to cultivate media coverage for clients,
· assisting in the execution of PR plans,
· helping in the development of corporate social media posts, and
· contributing logistical support to five client accounts in the tech, tax, non-profit, and healthcare sectors.
As Abigail experiences the fast-paced public relations industry, she is gaining invaluable knowledge and learning from top communication experts, specifically in tech; and enjoying every minute of it.
