Hayley Simson is a senior communication major with a concentration in public relations. She currently interns at WashingtonExec, which is a thought leadership forum located in Fairfax, Virginia. Their purpose is to help network with industry and government executives. They hold several events year-round that teach industry leaders how to identify new markets and learn about competition. Hayley works alongside, J.D. Kathuria, the founder and CEO of the company, and a Mason alum. In this internship, Hayley gains experience in the professional roles of event planning and management. Some of her tasks include:
· manage different conference and award events,
· create speaker bios,
· assist & develop online marketing resources (LinkedIn ads and press releases),
· assist & develop online slide shows and videos.
She is thankful for the opportunity and hopes to grow and learn even more in the field of communication. Ultimately, she hopes to make many connections throughout the internship. This is a great start for Hayley, and what she wants to do in the future.
