Dr. Sojung Kim and Dr. John Cook's Research Proposal Wins 2021 Facebook Research Award in Misinformation and Polarization.
The two #MasonCOMM faculty members research proposal titled "Testing fact and logic-based responses to polarizing climate misinformation" is among the awarded.
"Through this RFP [Foundational Integrity Research request for proposals], we aim to support the growth of scientific knowledge in the areas of misinformation, polarization, information quality, and social conflict on social media and social technology platforms. Our goal is also to contribute to a shared understanding across the broader scientific community and technology industry on how social technology companies can better address social issues on their platforms" (Read article in full here).
