Honors Student Spotlight: Scudder Researches Climate Change Info on Social Media

MasonCOMM is happy to share the research that our COMM Honors students are currently working on in COMM 491.

Laura Scudder’s research is focused on the consumption of climate change information on social media, specifically looking into how people interpret what they consume through their own partisan lenses.  She is presenting at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) in April 2021.

COMM 490/491 is a two-semester sequence designed to take your education to the next level by offering one-on-one guidance as you engage in research. Dr. Xiaomei Cai works with a class of 15 maximum students every year, guaranteeing personalized support through every step. In this class, you will fulfill your COMM 400 requirement, will learn how to perform research from an expert, and will have the edge over other students in your graduating class when applying for jobs or graduate school.
