Students earning a BA go on to successful careers at the local, national, and international level as well as pursuing graduate degrees. Our graduate programs in Strategic Communication, Health Communication, and Science Communication allow students to pursue a Master's or PhD relevant to a wide range of professional fields.
Surveys of employers consistently show that two of the top skills employers seek in new employees are oral and written communication skills, according to the National Communication Association.
In addition, based on a national survey of employers across all industries and job sectors, the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) has developed the list of the most in-demand transferable skills: Critical Thinking, Communication, Leadership, Technology, Teamwork, Professionalism, Career and Self-Development, and Equity and Inclusion. The Communication Major provides students with all of these skills to successfully transition to the workplace.
