The Debate Team has officially begun their tournament season, traveling 13 two-person teams last weekend. It was a great start for the team. Eleven pairs attended a tournament at Binghamton University, nine of those teams were among the top twenty within their divisions.
- The team of Michelle Thomas & Luke Melton WON the junior varsity division!
- Another two teams made semi-final round appearances: David Michael Woodward & Isaac Brown in varsity and Erica Jalbuena & Tyler Wiseman in novice.
- GMU had another three teams in quarter final rounds, Sean Hoey & Lincoln Upton in junior varsity and Rich Kaye & Austin Oliver and Nouran Ghanem & Fayven Gitahi in novice.
- There were another three teams in octo-final rounds, Paula Kostuik & Jazmyne Arnett and Lizbett Mendozza & Manraaj Nijjar in JV and Dillon Caldwell & Andre Massa in novice.
- The team also earned 15 individual speaker awards!
