The College of Humanities and Social Sciences is proud to honor Nathan Ferraro, BA Communication '27, as the 2026 CHSS Alumni Chapter Scholar.
Ferraro is a junior majoring in communication with concentrations in journalism and political communication at George Mason University. He has a passion for newspapers, community-based reporting, multimedia journalism, political storytelling, and in-depth research.
Ferraro is the managing editor of the student newspaper, Fourth Estate, a student in the Honors College, and a member of the Bonner Leader program, a four-year service-based work-study program where students work to advance civic engagement and social change in the community.
Ferraro works as a development coordinator specializing in grant-writing at Britepaths, a Fairfax-based nonprofit empowering families through financial literacy and workforce development programs. Nathan is also the public relations representative for the Bonner program. Ferraro is a certified citizen reporter and covers topics ranging from local businesses and events to politics and features. He interns as a staff writer at Trib Total Media in Pittsburgh during the summers, where he is a Jim Borden Scholar.
