Eric Woodall honored with 2026 distinguished alumni award

The College of Humanities and Social Sciences is proud to honor Eric Woodall, BA Speech Communication '95, with the 2026 Distinguished Staff Alumni Award.

Woodall is is a career marketing and communications professional with more than 30 years of experience at both agencies and Fortune 500 companies. For six of his 10 years at George Mason University, he has served as the associate vice president, brand marketing, providing strategic brand leadership and managing a team of creative brand professionals who are tasked with elevating and implementing the George Mason brand. He was a key member of a two-year university branding effort that culminated in the launch of a visual rebrand in 2024.

Prior to joining George Mason, Woodall was vice president, global online services, at Hilton Hotels and a Managing Director, eCommerce, at Sallie Mae, where he led a team that developed a patented college cost calculator. During his career, he and his teams have been awarded Silver Anvils, Telly’s, and Webby Awards.
