On September 17, George Mason University Communication PhD student Philip Wilkerson will be inducted into the Fairfax County Public Schools Alumni Hall of Fame, presented by Educate Fairfax, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the community. A proud Northern Virginia native and graduate of Mount Vernon High School, Philip earned his undergraduate degree in history from James Madison University and his master’s degree in education from Mason. He began working at George Mason University in 2017 and, inspired by his experiences serving the Mason community, returned to school in 2022 to pursue his PhD in Communication. His achievement highlights the impact Mason students and alumni can make in their communities and serves as an inspiration to fellow Patriots pursuing scholarship, service, and leadership.
