
Shareen Bhatia is a senior Communication major with a Public Relations concentration. She is interning with United Educators, an education insurance and risk management company located in Bethesda, Maryland. The organization is known for its work supporting over 1,600 schools nationwide and was recognized in 2023 as one of the top five most trusted insurance brands by AM Best. Shareen reports to the marketing team and is using this opportunity as a chance to gain real-world professional experience in the digital marketing and strategic communications field. A few of her internship tasks include:
· developing marketing collateral and campaign assets,
· editing internal and external communications newsletters,
· performing competitor research and industry analysis,
· managing and creating content for company’s social media, and
· supporting webinar and event promotions through email marketing tools.
This internship helps Shareen with building and adding to her marketing portfolio, sharpen her writing skills, and gain a better understanding of branding in the education insurance industry. Sharee said, “I’m excited about projects I work on, which allow me to apply classroom learning as I pursue a professional career in strategic communications after graduation,”
