Hailey Bangerezako is a rising senior Communication major with a concentration in public relations. She interns with the Public Affairs Office at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Walter Reed is one of the nation’s largest and most renowned military medical centers. It was recently awarded a Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade of “A” and provides medical service to military families, our nation's active duty, returning war heroes, veterans, and our Nation's leaders. Hailey’s immediate supervisor is Public Affairs Officer of Command Communications at Walter Reed. Her tasks include:
• crafting articles and press releases,
• assisting with media relations and media escorts,
• writing social media captions and assisting on DHA campaign postings, and
• assisting on photography shoots for articles.
Each task that Hailey is assigned allows her to grow in her understanding of public affairs. She is extremely happy with her position and the amazing team with whom she works and learns. She aims to take the skills that she crafts from this internship after she graduates to work within a position under the Department of Defense.
