Dr. Rochelle Davidson Mhonde, is an amazing developing scholar, her doctoral degree was conferred by the Communication department December 2022. Dr. Davidson Mhonde has been selected as the recipient of the National Communication Association and the International Communication Association Abby Prestin Dissertation of the year. Her dissertation was titled: "Silencing as an Act of Protection:” A Mixed-methods Intersectional-Ecological Exploration of Black Parents’ Beliefs, Behaviors, and Perceptions about Sexual Health and Trauma, is an example of the exemplary work and research that Dr. Davidson Mhonde’s is going to bring the health communication , especially when addressing matters impacting groups traditionally marginalized and muted.
