At a time when traditional journalism has come and gone, George Mason University students have an opportunity to create the future of content and storytelling. At Mason we are advancing our Journalism advising in innovative ways to include branding, digital content, digital marketing, start-up growth, content and DEIA business and reporting incubators. Beth Jannery, rejoined the Department of Communication this year and is reinvigorating what it means to study journalism at Mason.
What follows is a snapshot of Communication Cases highlighting the work the Journalism program is engaged in: 2022 -2024. We believe in advancing student development and faculty professional development inside and outside of the classroom. We are looking at ways to bridge the classroom and the workplace with innovative ideas.

This week we highlight
Renaissance Weekend Leadership Development
Beth Jannery received an invitation to attend and speak (several speaking engagements) at the 40th anniversary of Renaissance Weekend, formed by former Ambassador Phil Lader with Bill and Hilary Clinton as attendees. RW is a cross-generational, “continuing conversation” among innovative leaders from diverse fields. Jannery will be with other educator and business leaders. Most are authorities; many have amazing achievements and contributions ahead. All are committed to making a genuine difference with their work and service. It is relationship building, an opportunity for quiet branding, with no political or commercial agenda and 100% off the record.
