On April 27, retired professor Andrew Finn will join nine other storytellers on stage for the DC The Moth Story GrandSlam at the Lincoln Theatre in Washington, DC. Each of these 10 storytellers previously won first place in a round of storytelling at a DC The Moth StorySlam. Dr. Finn won his StorySlam on May 2, 2019 at the Miracle Theatre in DC.
The Moth is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the art of storytelling. It holds storytelling events in more than 25 cities in the United States. Local events by The Moth in Washington, DC are sponsored by WAMU radio, which also carries the nationally syndicated The Moth Radio Hour each week (Saturdays, 3-4 PM).
Following a hiatus due to the pandemic, the DC chapter of The Moth has restarted its events in 2022. The April 27 event at the Lincoln Theatre is the first DC GrandSlam in more than two years. The theme for the evening is “Between the Lines.” Tickets are available from Ticketmaster ($35 + a $10 fee).
