While some students are searching for sun and surf during spring break, Professor Schmeidler and a few available students in his COMM 208 Introduction to Media Production Course visited one of the largest production facilities in the area, that being the studios of Interface Media Group.

The students were impressed with the size of the studios and the variety of equipment and lighting available for production. The complexity of the Master Control room left quite an impression and the review of IMG’s media production and digital media services and operations was extremely informative. The students left the tour with great excitement about all the careers and technologies available at a large studio.

Professor Schmeidler said, “The entire team at IMG was welcoming and generous, sharing their own professional journeys. We came to IMG as communication scholars and the smiles, warm greetings and professionalism from everyone was noticed. We saw that our studies in communication will be a great benefit in the workplace. We were all very impressed by the communication of the IMG staff!”

Professor Schmeidler is considering similar tours at other production venues …anyone interested in live event stadium production?
