COMM Instructor Supports Non-Traditional Pathways

The Stearns Center for Teaching and Learning’s Thank-a-Teacher program formally recognizes Lance E. Schmeidler on behalf of his students.

COMM Instructor Supports Non-Traditional Pathways

Developing and maintaining high standards in teaching and mentoring is a challenging and time-consuming endeavor, especially during the unique circumstances of this past year. The Stearns Center formally recognizes unsolicited student feedback and praise for Mason instructors and their efforts.  Through this program, students acknowledge an instructor who has made a significant difference in their lives. Below are comments that highlight the positive impact of Professor Schmeidler’s dedication to his students.

Very few teachers have an impact beyond the classroom.  He helped and guided me through a very tough time in my life, helping me expand my professional horizons when I was out of a job.  This is after our COMM 305 Foundations of Intercultural Communication course had ended, which makes it even more commendable, so thank you for that.
