Cortney Shackson graduated from George Mason University in May 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a concentration in Public Relations.
In 2004, Cortney embarked on her recruiting career starting as a Scientific Recruiter. Helping others and hearing their professional experiences and career aspirations was always her passion. In 2008, she began her IT recruiting path. Throughout her career she has focused on partnership development and recruitment strategy implementation. She enjoys acting as a collaborative communicator, executing recruitment initiatives, filling positions for clients and driving all aspects of the recruiting process.
Most recently, Cortney joined the IBM Talent Acquisition team as a Principle Talent Acquisition Business Partner. Cortney relocated from Northern Virginia to Raleigh, North Carolina in 2015 where she lives with her husband and 2 beautiful daughters.
