2019 #MasonCOMM Alum, Angelique Arintok, is a Reporter at WVEC-TV

Angelique Arintok is a reporter/multi-skilled journalist at 13News Now WVEC-TV in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. She works the nightside shift, turning content daily for the 11 p.m. shows. Angelique is general assignment and covers anything from local government, breaking news to school boards and more.

Before working at 13, Angelique reported for two years at News 5 WCYB-TV in the stateline community of Bristol. She immersed herself in the stories that impact Southwest Virginia and Northeast Tennessee.

Angelique believes in the power of local journalism, offering the voiceless a voice, breaking down complicated topics and telling stories creatively. She got her foundation and honed in on her skills while studying at George Mason University.

Whenever Angelique wasn’t at class, she was most likely at Student Media. She had leadership roles with Mason Cable Network/News and Mason’s chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. She also got involved with Fourth Estate and WGMU Radio. Angelique advocates for Student Media and the experiential learning that comes with volunteering or working there.

Angelique majored in Communication with a concentration in Media Production and minored in Political Communication. She started her college career in 2016 and decided to accelerate her studies, graduating in 2019 with honors. Angelique also studied abroad for the Communication programs at London and Paris. She is proud to be a #MasonCOMM and Student Media alum.
