Brooke Finnicum is a Passport Specialist within the Bureau of Consular Affairs at the U.S. Department of State. She analyzes citizenship law and fraud prevention knowledge to adjudicate passport applications and assists applicants in emergency situations for same-day passport issuance. With this position, she utilizes interpersonal communication and problem solving skills on a daily basis.
Brooke graduated in 2018 with a degree in Communication and a concentration in Public Relations and minors in Korean Studies and Tourism and Events Management. Upon graduating, she lived and studied in South Korea for one year through the David L. Boren Fellowship, intensively learning the Korean language at Sogang University. This led her on the path to her current work in the federal government.
During her time at Mason, Brooke was very involved with Mason Study Abroad and interned as both a Marketing Intern and Peer Advisor. She also interned for Sage Communications and NAFSA: Association of International Educators, which helped her gain hands-on experience in both the PR and international relations fields. She studied abroad at Mason Korea for one semester, Korea University for another semester, and participated in the International Public Relations in London winter program. Brooke is proud to be a Mason alumna and enjoyed her time abroad, internships, and coursework at Mason, especially within the Communication department.
