#MasonCOMM Faculty to Participate in HCOM Symposium

Several faculty (current, past, and future) have been invited to present their research at a health communication conference at Hong Kong Baptist University next week via Zoom.

The conference is Frontiers of Health Communication in Asia: Challenges and Opportunities. It will have some of the leading health communication scholars from the U.S. and around the world. The program includes the following people associated with our department:

  • Current #MasonCOMM faculty, Gary Kreps, will discuss "The Role of Health and Risk Communication in Responding to Pandemics and Other Serious Health Crises"
  • Current #MasonCOMM faculty, Kevin Wright will discuss "Online Support Communities,
    Communication Processes, and Health Outcomes"
  • Future #MasonCOMM faculty, Iccha Basnyat, will discuss "Intersections of Culture, Gender & Health"
  • Former faculty member, Emily Vraga, will discuss "Identifying and Responding to Health Misinformation on Social Media: The Challenges of Modern Media"
