Jenny Muchnikoff, enjoying casual Friday, is a senior communication major with concentrations in public relations and journalism. Her internship this summer is with WJLA/ABC7 Sinclair Group as a journalist working in the general news department in Arlington, VA. WJLA is one of the leading networks in the Washington, DC area. Recently the network garnered the most regional awards at the 60th Emmy awards presentations by the National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Some of Jenny’s tasks are:
- learning the workings of print journalism,
- researching material for articles,
- contributing to creative content, and
- shadowing reporters in the field.
Jenny hopes to take these skills and apply them not only to her remaining coursework as a communication major, but also looks forward to her future in public relations and journalism. She ends her internship with ABC7 soon, and then begins a PR internship in the Tyson’s Corner area. Jenny is on the move!
