Mason Cable Network to Broadcast Men’s Basketball Game vs. Catawba

Game will be MCN's first live broadcast of Men's Basketball

FAIRFAX, VA – Mason Cable Network (MCN), Mason’s student-operated television network, will live broadcast the upcoming George Mason Men’s Basketball game vs. non-conference opponent Catawba College. This will be Mason Cable Network’s first live broadcast of a Men’s Basketball game.

The broadcast will take place this Wednesday, December 17, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. when Mason hosts Catawba inside the RAC Gym. MCN’s live broadcast will air on campus channel 231. Broadcast partner WGMU Radio will also carry live coverage of the game. 

Regular play-by-play announcer Bill Rohland will be joined by color commentator and former Patriot, Lamar Butler, who was part of the historic 2006 Men’s Basketball team that went all the way to the Final Four. 

MCN’s live broadcast will also be available to subscribers of the Atlantic 10 Digital Network, audio streamed on the official website of George Mason Athletics and available on the official GoMason Mobile apps.

Mason Cable Network airs live and pre-recorded sports, news, entertainment, and student submissions 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to approximately 6,000 Fairfax campus residents, and is available worldwide via online streaming and the official MCN YouTube channel.

The Network is currently in its second season of live sports broadcasting in partnership with Mason Athletics. With the addition of Men’s Basketball, MCN’s live broadcast portfolio now includes coverage of six athletic teams and five club and intramural sports.
