Selena was born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas, before she attended the University of Arkansas in the city of Fayetteville. After graduating with a B.S. in Earth Sciences and a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism, Selena moved to Fairfax, Virginia, in 2017 to pursue her Master’s in Science Communication at Mason.
She is the recipient of the 2018 Department of Communication Challenge Award and works as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. Selena is proud to serve the Communication Graduate Student Association (CSGA) as the Master’s Student Representative. Her passions include severe weather, climate change and risk communication (oh, and the Arkansas Razorbacks!).
