Environmental communication is NOT a sit-back-and-listen course. In this class, we tackle projects such as
The class explores fundamental questions about connections between human health and the environment, best practices for learning science, and evidence-based approaches for protecting animals and ecosystems.
Students taking Environmental Communication will complete the class with a portfolio of products they create and experiences that will help them explore internships and jobs where supporting the health of the environment is focal.
The instructor, Dr. Katherine Rowan, is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. She enjoys learning about science and teaching. On major assignments, she uses a first-version, final version system, where students receive feedback on first versions of their work, and grades on final versions.
