Section Information for Spring 2019

So what's it like being the DJ spinning music and talking to the listener in 30 to 45 second segments? This is the place to learn!

Radio Workshop I introduces you to the radio station environment. You'll produce a weekly, live one hour music show using songs from the WGMU library.

Your goal will be to make it to the WGMU studio in the JC. There you will host your music-based show on wgmuradio.com.

Listen to music-formatted radio stations after 10 am. You'll learn how to be that on-air personality (delivery, voice inflection, etc.) you hear on those stations. You'll learn how to use broadcast software standard in the radio industry.

You can develop the skills to produce your own show (upon approval of the WGMU program director) and even be in line for possible paid positions at WGMU.

An excellent course to build resume material to work in the media.
