The Pathways To Your Future Communication Forum was held on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 in Dewberry Hall, Johnson Center. The event consisted of a keynote speech with six rounds of mentoring sessions featuring professional communicators from many different companies and organizations. The keynote speaker was Lindsay Czarniak, a Northern Virginia native and James Madison University Alumna. Lindsay is most well known for being on a sportscaster on ESPN. Czarniak even stayed after her speech to help mentor the students during the mentoring sessions. Each mentor represented the Mason Communication Department's areas of concentration and helped show students where those studies can lead including: public relations, journalism, media production, human resources, sports marketing, political communication, public affairs and more.
This event is sponsored by George Mason University's Insight Committee of the Department of Communication, a volunteer advisory board comprising experienced leaders in professional communication. This group annually sponsors an on-campus event to provide students access to and advice from leading professionals.
In order for the Department of Communication and Insight Committee to prepare and plan for the 2019 forum, feedback from students who attended is necessary to plan another successful event! Please take the Pathways To Your Future survey and let the department know your thoughts.
