Once you successfully complete one semester of Comm 148 with a C or better, or have previous on-air experience (resume and audio examples required), you can take Comm 348.
In this course, you start in WGMU's Johnson Center (JC) studio, producing two hours of shows based on WGMU alternative music format. While you learn basic on-air skills in Comm 148, in Comm 348 you are honing your on-air skills with the goal of professional-sounding effort.
In addition to on-air work, assignments include production of a monthly podcast and promotion of shows through social media.

Intensive practical application of previously acquired on-air show hosting skills at student internet radio station WGMU. Skill development in commercial production and writing included. New technologies such as social media, computer automation systems and advanced production software are integrated throughout the curriculum to prepare students to engage in the most current applications for commercial and internet radio and podcasting. May be repeated within the term for a maximum 3 credits.
