>PBS NewsHour

-PBS NewsHour is looking for a Production Assistant, Media Assets (PA) to work with the Media Assets team, performing a variety of tasks related to the management and archiving of PBS NewsHour media assets (both digital and tape) and support for the production work of thePBS NewsHour.  The PA exercises independent judgment and collaborates with producers, technicians and other members of the PBS NewsHour organization, for the daily broadcast and online content.

-Primary responsibilities include assisting and monitoring footage for the PBS NewsHourMedia Management system, entering data into the legacy Library archival database, and researching and fulfilling video requests for producers. Further, the PA will edit and duplicate video for clients, guests, and others, as necessary, using editing programs, such as Avid Media Composer, Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro.  Additionally, they will provide production assistance, and assist in curation of incoming footage; including field footage, outside-sourced footage and Newssource footage from providers including APTN, Reuters, ITN and ABC NewsOne.

-Qualified applicants will have Bachelors in journalism, or related field, and one (1) year of experience with Media Asset Management Systems. In addition, they will have some experience with broadcast and online journalism, and experience with Avid Composer, Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

>Summer 2017 Congressional Internship

-The Officer of Senator Chris Coons (D-DE) seeks paid interns for his office in Washington, DC for the 2017 summer semester.

>Swiss Broadcasting Internship

-Are you looking to get into broadcast journalism? We are offering internships in Washington DC for outstanding students with great people skills who are interested in a career in TV or radio news.

-We are Switzerland's national broadcaster. Our Washington DC bureau covers news from all over the Americas for our audience all over Europe.

-Your job title would be assistant producer, working with our senior producer to support our six TV and radio correspondents.

-Under the supervision of the senior producer, you will conduct research, find guests to interview and fulfill some administrative tasks around the bureau.

-You will be expected to deal professionally with all kinds of people - from government officials to ordinary members of the American public who are making news. You must have a good understanding of US news and current affairs.

-Our downtown office building has many international media organizations and is a great place to network for permanent job opportunities and learn working in the media.

-The internship is generally unpaid. However, there will be opportunity to earn a few hundred dollars per month if you find us great people to interview on our television networks.

-The internships can last between one and three months, subject to your personal circumstances and performance on the job.

-All applicants should have a basic grasp of the work-flows involved in TV production. Technical knowledge of cameras and editing programs (for example Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premier) is a bonus, but not required.

-The Washington bureau’s TV reporter is instructed file a two minute story about whether or not America is ready to tighten restrictions on gun ownership.

-Basic Function: Develop a feasibility study for combining future (GII) Spring and Summer Conferences. Assisting with various E&S projects.

-Member Recognition and Communications Specialist

-Coordinate all aspects of the Conference of Executives (COE) and GII recognition programs. Serve as the primary conduit for award winners and work with Goodwill executives as judges for the awards.

-Write, curate and edit content for Goodwill’s primary internal news channel on the MyGoodwill intranet site; disseminate and e-newsletter to nearly 10,000 employee subscribers; and maintain content on key sites on the intranet.

-Support the Member Relations department through budget monitoring, facilitating member requests, and some administrative logistics for the VP of Member Relations.

-Experience: Minumum of 2 years experience in program administration support, project management or equivalent type of work preferred.

-Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred

-Senior Specialist, Digital Communications

-Mange digital projects of modest to intense complexity including on-going content development, functionality enhancement projects and priority redesign tasks for Goodwill.org.

-Manage email communications channels for GII, including oversight of technology, campaign execution and data and analytics.

-Develop, execute and monitor paid digital campaigns and initiatives.

-Support the creation of communications and reports to support the GII strategic priorities.

-Video Journalism Fellowship

-GenFKD, a 501(c)(3) funded by a founder of Home Depot, is looking for on-campus video journalists to contribute content for national syndication. Our media partners include Sinclair Broadcast and their Millennial-centric brand Circa.

-Who can apply? -Paxton Campus is currently seeking a paid intern from January to June 2017, with possible extension into the summer months.

-Position Description: Communications and Marketing Internship: Paxton Campus seeks a dynamic, self-starter to assist marketing and communications efforts on campus. This internship is an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of communications and marketing while working for a well-known local nonprofit organization in Loudoun County, VA. The internship is 20 to 40 hours a week, depending on availability; hours would need to be completed onsite at our Leesburg Campus.

-Responsibilities: Update and maintain Paxton Campus’ social media presence, including monitoring, posting, and scheduling updates and current “Happenings” on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Updated the organization’s website (paxtoncampus.org) regularly; help improve the mobile-friendly version. Assist in planning, writing and managing email blasts and quarterly newsletter. Design flyers, graphics, e-vites and other marketing materials. Assist with preparing our 2016 Annual Report. Assist with Event Planning for Annual Meeting and other 50th Anniversary Events for The Arc of Loudon (our nonprofit). -Qualifications: Firm grasp of available tools and platforms in the social media space. Firm grasp of website content management. Knowledge of graphic design is a plus. Completed or working toward a college degree (junior level and up), preferably in a related field (e.g., Marketing/Communications, Advertising or Public Relations). Understanding of the basic principles of public relations and/or marketing. Must be computer literate (working knowledge of Word processing, PowerPoint, Excel). Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop highly desired. Possess excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well independently, and within a team. Commitment to cultural sensitivity and respect for differences.
